Hummus with Sesame
- 1 can (19 oz) chick peas; rinsed and drained; or
- 2 cups cooked chick peas
- 2 cloves garlic; minced
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- lemon slices
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro or parsley; chopped
In food processor or blender, puree chick peas coarsely (add 1/4 cup water if
using blender and puree in two batches) Add garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, hot
pepper sauce, sesame oil and cumin. Puree until mixture is smooth as you wish.,
taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Transfer to serving bowl and garnish
with lemon slices and cilantro..
Yield: 6 servings
