Search Engine Submission
Today, there are thousands of search engines on the web, but you may find it interesting to note that most of domestic North American search volume is done by the top 4 search engines. In fact, we could go as far as to say that the vast majority of your traffic will come from 3 places: Google, Yahoo, and MSN. We also see traffic from other search engines like ASK, AOL, and AltaVista, but the traffic that they generate is typically quite lower.
Each of these sites will find your website from any incoming link generated by your link building campaigns. We take this even further, to help our client's site get found quickly,we put a link to their home page on our home page. Within a week, the new site is found by all major search engines.
Pay For Inclusion (PFI) programs
Other search engines offer Pay For Inclusion (PFI) programs that ensure a site will be crawled and updated on a regular basis. Most of these providers charge a nominal yearly fee to guarantee inclusion, but some of the newer programs also charge a fee, making this submission a much more complex area. We find that these services are not worth their value and do not use or recommend them.
