With literally thousands of search engines on the web, you may find it interesting to note that about 95%
of domestic search volume is done through the top 4 search engines.
In fact, we could go as far as to say that the vast majority of your traffic will come from 3 places: Google,
Yahoo, and MSN. Other search engines like ASK, AOL, AltaVista, and others will contribute, but the
traffic that they generate is typically much lower.

Over the years, submitting a site to the search engines has changed drastically. Today, the major
search engines will find your site from any incoming link generated by your link building campaigns.
Other search engines offer Pay For Inclusion (PFI) programs that ensure a site will be crawled and
updated on a regular basis. Most of these providers charge a nominal yearly fee to guarantee inclusion,
but some of the newer programs also charge a fee, making this submission a much more complex area. We
find that these are not worth their value
