The following parts are included in this maintenance kit:

Damage to the core can occur if it is packaged incorrectly. Re use this packaging to ship the core back.A core charge will be applied if the core is received in non-repairable condition.

WA R N I N G

Turn the printer off, unplug it, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes beforeperforming these maintenance procedures.

Fuser Removal & Installation

1. Remove the paper tray and toner cartridge from the printer.
2. Open the rear door. Locate and unfasten the two phillips head screws securing the fuser to the base of the printer.
3. Grab the fuser by its left and right metal tabs, lift slightly and pull the fuser straight out of the printer.
4. Place the new fuser into the printer and push it in until the screw holes line up with those in the base.
5. Resecure the two phillips head screws and close the rear cover.

Main Pick Up Roller Removal & Replacement

1. Turn the printer onto its left side.
2. Locate the main pick up roller on the underside of the printer. Pinch the clip on the pick up roller and remove it from the shaft.
3. Slide the new main pick up roller onto the shaft until it snaps into place. It may be necessary to turn the roller while doing this.
4. Return the printer to the upright position.

Manual Feed Tray Pick Up Roller & Separation Pad Removal & Replacement

1. Open the manual feed tray (front tray) and locate the pick up roller. If the black plastic envelope feeder access cover is installed, remove it by pinching the middle clip and pulling it out of the printer.
2. Pinch the clip and remove the pick up roller from the shaft by sliding it towards the right.
3. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry up on the silver edge of the separation pad and remove it.
4. Snap the new separation pad into place (Again, the silver edge faces the front of the printer).
5. Slide the new manual feed pick up roller onto the shaft until it snaps into place. It may be necessary to turn the roller while doing this.
6. Reinstall the black plastic envelope feeder access cover if it was removed in step 1 and close the manual feed tray.

Transfer Roller Removal & Replacement

Use The Latex Gloves When Replacing The Transfer Roller

1. Open the top cover and locate the transfer roller.
2. Using a flathead screwdriver or the green plastic loop (located on the front inside edge of the upper cover), lift the transfer roller shaft between the blue gear and the white plastic bushing.
3. Lift and remove the transfer roller from the printer.
4. Insert the right side of the new transfer roller first, then press down on the left side until it snaps into place.
5. Replace the green plastic loop if it was used in step 2.

Optional Lower Tray Pick Up Roller Removal & Replacement

1. Separate the optional lower tray from the printer.
2. Pinch the release clip on the pick up roller and pull the roller from the shaft.
3. Slide the new pick up roller onto the shaft until it snaps into place. It may be necessary to turn the roller while doing this.
4. Replace the paper tray and the toner cartridge.
