Hummus

  • 2 16 oz Cans Garbanzo Beans (Juice reserved from one can)
  • 1/3 cup tahini*
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Roasted Garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon Juice (juice of 1 lemon)
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons reserved garbanzo juice
  • Fresh Chile of choice (cayenne, thai or habanero)

    *Tahini is sesame seed paste and can be found in Middle Eastern Markets and most supermarkets. (Not the same as Asian Sesame paste!)

    Place all ingredients in a food processor and process till smooth. Add reserved juice till desired consistancy is obtained (soft spreadable consistency).

    Serve with pita wedges and slices of Red & Yellow Bell Peppers.
